Charles Gignac was selected as the recipient of the 2011 POAC Best Student Paper Award. Gignac is a student at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique. The title of his paper was "High Resolution Radarsat-2 SAR Data for Sea-Ice Classification in the Neighbourhood of Nunavik's Marine Infrastructures".
